Why are so many moms having inductions scheduled?? Even if there's nothing wrong w the baby?

@maddie718 ok but that's still a legitimate reason to be induced not just bc you were tired of being preggo

I got induced at 38weeks 5 days nothing was wrong with the baby he was just getting too big for me, (my pelvic area wouldn't be wide enough if I went full term) and my induction went great I slept through my labor woke up to the doctor telling me to get ready to push and I pushed for 15 minutes and out he came!

@nicoleclev & @cubanese Unfortunately I feel like so many women getting pregnant don't educate themselves and make the best choices. It's could be as simple as buying pregnancy books or taking the time to choose an OB and hospital that puts important things first. My OB office would not induce unless you were 41 Weeks + or in case of medical emergency (I had to have my baby early via C-Section because I went to my regular checkup and had high blood pressure preeclampsia at 37 Weeks and he had to be delivered that day. And we tried external version because he was breech and it didn't work so C-Section had to be done ;( Even my hospital is designated as a "baby friendly" hospital meaning they put the baby on you immediately to nurse and don't wash it for at least an hour. And the baby never leaves your room unless they have to go to the NICU. The lack of education and general poor choices on here just make me sad. I was miserable at the end of my pregnancy but I was terrified when he had to be born 3 weeks early. It was the last thing I wanted. Luckily he was healthy and perfect, but these ladies wanting to induce need to understand that their babies need to stay in as long as possible. The baby is what matters most.

@nicoclev, that's beyond ridiculous !!! The only reason am not circumsizing my son is because the insurance won't pay for it , geez I think that's why I prefer having my midwife who is always telling me calm down he will come when he wants to come so get it to getter girl lol

My dr agreed to schedule one at 39 weeks so I would have someone for my son but I'm starting to show signs of the same complications I had with my son so i will probably get induced at 37 weeks

@katiesmiles1 sounds about right. I had a lady try to tell me that I was bad for wanting to get my son circumsized but she was ok for being induced at 35 weeks.

My doctor wants to induce me for no reason. I was scared to just tell him I wana wait just bc everytime I ask a question he makes me feel stupid about it. I'm just young & don't know anything so I feel like he trys to use that against me.

You know Iv been wondering the same thing , my Obgyn refuses to schedule an induction unless your past your due date and even then they will wait 7 days after. They actually have this guide of all the benefits of waiting the full 40

@mrs.bowe but a lot of women too have docs that just schedule it for no reason. It's not like insurance stops paying do being pregnant at week 42 right?

@nessairieray I'm already high risk I told the ladies at my OB that I want him to come on his own at his own time with no meds and no c section unless it's absolutely medically necessary

They say they are miserable an tired of being pregnant, and the doc is also helping them make these major decisions

I myself question this some babies are being born too early for no reason
