@monique51893, Iv had two c sections and let me tell you pain is ruff getting up and down is horrible I see you have a one year old that's gonna be hard because u can't even pick them up :( I would have to sit in a chair to pick my son up I didn't take meds because they would make me feel awful ! And I noticed it in baby since I was breastfeeding. But what helped was the wrap that they give you the tighter they put it on ur tummy the better you feel l. With out that thing I was in so much paid even tho it's so uncontherble to wear and it was always ridding up. But good luck

No an IV is a needle they put into your vein before surgeries. It keeps you getting fluids and staying hydrated since you won't be getting up right away from the surgery. I would rate the pain a 4 from 1 to 10. If you have more questions shoot let me know! Everything is super fresh to me

I don't know if you've ever had an IV but the spinal tap feels the same as an IV..to me:) and that's the needle they're using to numb you so you don't feel the real thing lol

I had a c section 2 months ago. I chose to have one just because my family has a history of HUGE babies and she was already weighing pretty big at 8 months. My nerves were all over the place and I was freaking out but they gave me some oxygen and I was much better. It took no more than 20 minutes and I saw my baby..you dont feel any pain, just pressure. The recovery part was a little rough at first..I couldn't stand straight and it hurt sitting up and down but they give you some good meds for that haha. If you do opt for it,take those big mesh panties from the hospital and take those meds around the clock. By the 2nd week you'll be feeling better..again my opinion but next baby I'll be choosing to have another c section. Good luck girly!

Like @beebaby said, it's the same. Needle and tube goes into the same place in your back either way. Just different amounts and types of medications. The needle in your back is nothing compared to the pain of a C-Section recovery. I barely even felt that. Not trying to scare you but a C Section is major surgery even though people don't talk about that part a lot. The difference is with other major surgeries in life you don't have to be awake during surgery or keep a human baby alive while recovering.

@monique51893, I had already had the epidural because I was trying to go vaginally and needed an emergency c section but the epidural for the vaginal wasn't bad at all

I had an unplanned c Section and it was pretty awful. Being awake during a major surgery is terrifying. And the recovery is really hard. And this is coming from someone who has been fit and active my entire life, even during pregnancy. It's no joke. But I also have friends who have had rough vaginal births. You never know how it will go.

@gabriellerose @beebaby I hurd the needle (epidural) for the c section is less painful.
