My doctor's office forgot to give me the paperwork to go get my baby tested for down syndrome last time I was there. I figured I would get it at this appointment. The Dr proceeded to tell me that I'm a bad patient bc now it's too late. First of all, y'all are the ones that didn't give me the paperwork! Secondly, I have two cousins with down syndrome and one cousin that suffers from a severe mental retardation and no matter how my little man is when he is born, he will be loved and well taken care of. A test is not going to change whether or not there is something going on and confirming it early will not change anything.

Down syndrome is not transferred by genes. The fact that you have relatives with this syndrome does not mean anything. What matters is your age, if you are over 35, this increases the risk of down syndrome child

I wasn't saying that as if it was transferred by genes. I was saying I have cousins that have it so I am familiar with it and how differently it can affect different people. And how a test wouldn't change how I love my child @dreamygirl
