Tips on first night back in own cot after months of co sleeping ONLY in bed with us! He was in his own crib in the first few months and sometimes co sleeping however since late October early November he's solely been in with us and refused to go in on his own so tonight I'm trying him back in his own room and cot so any tips advice please

Have you tried giving him a top that has your smell on it or something? Is there a night light that might help him, my daughter loved a pillow it seemed to help her settle and feel more snug at night, the thing about this is it's gonna be tough but you have to stick at it after few bad nights he should slowly get there, sorry I ain't got much advice as I was lucky my girl loved her own cot and the space she had, now she loves her toddler bed, just wishing you luck Hun hope he gets used to it soon xx

Id say consistency is key dont give in too early like gabi said it will be tough the first few times but hel get used to it , comfort him while hes in the cot and while he falls asleep if he wakes up go back in and rub his cheek whatever he likes to nod back off then leave and so on dont run straight in let him cry a little but if hes got a cough dont let him go nuts lol hope it helps xx @holliesinead

Max slept fine until we put him in the cot in his own room/ with Morgan. All I can say which you probably won't want to hear or have a thousand times already is, it just takes persistance. Max still has the odd bad night & when he's poorly I still bring him in with us. But he is doing much better (2months on!) And 8/10 times sleeps through. Oh he loves to sleep with a pillow!!

@gabilicious, @sara-lou, @west94, thanks girls every word helps and I'm gonna keep trying I know it's gonna be hard but with his new diet I'm hoping he will be a lot more settled than what he was before xxx

Have you noticed a difference being dairy free? Was it diary you cut out?

@sara-lou, it's like having a new child Hun! He has slept through the night, doesn't cry anymore, nappies are normal a massive difference xxx

Aw that's brilliant! Hopefully his breathing & coughing will improve as well. Seems he has followed your footsteps having the intolerance bless him.

@sara-lou, that's another thing is his breathing is almost normal as well it's still bad for a 9 month old but better than what it was! I think it's a milk protein intolerance xx

Glad his new diet is working hun, you should take him back to the doctor though and try and get dairy free formula prescription for him too xc
