Idk if it's just me, but I LOVED having my son with just my husband in the room (with doctors) it felt so much more intimate and we had family bonding time just us 3. I am planning on doing this with the birth of our daughter in June but his family is so upset about it. They want to be in there. TBH, I don't care. I don't want them there during that time. I don't feel comfortable with someone staring into my birth canal lol. Also I don't want people reaching and grabbing for my baby girl right after she's born. Having him early in the AM (1:05) was such a blessing really, because no one came and bothered us. Do you think I'm being selfish?

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I meant you and your hubby are a family. Don't let anyone get in the way of being happy. Cuz at the end of the day it's just you both and the kid(s)

@luceromommy, no it's not my family. I don't really associate with much of my family but HIS family I do associate with and they think they should be in there. I don't even want anyone in there for HOURS after she's born.

It's your family. Why try to make everyone happy when it makes you anything but happy? Not worth it.

@savannahkbrown that's pretty ridiculous. His mom's solution was to come in right after I gave birth.

@amandacn, I had a few of his family members not even come to the hospital at all since they couldn't be in there for the birth

I don't think you're being selfish. My fiances mom was really offended that I didn't want her in the room. But she got over it.

@blessed-n-proud8, they say "oh you'll wish you would have experienced it" no. Not really.

Locking your doors We are having a discussion on one of my birth boards from my older kids about locking doors and security alarms. There are many of us (me included) who do not lock our doors at home (I actually don't even have a deadbolt on my house and we don't lock it when we leave either), and others who think that's totally weird. So what do you do? Do you lock your doors? Do you think it's weird that people don't?

Is it rude to not want anyone at the hospital?

Is it rude to not want anyone at the hospital? I was just informed that my MIL wants to be waiting at the hospital so as soon as I pop out the baby she can rush in to be with the baby. I am really a private person and dont really want anyone at the hospital when I give birth (except my husband). I was planning on calling all the family to come to the hospital once I was all cleaned up and ready for visitors. Am I being rude? How do I tell them I dont want visitors a minute after pushing out a baby?! I would like some private time for just my husband & I!
