When did you ladies transition your child to a toddler bed?

that's great. We have to keep reinforcing the whole big boy thing too and that seems to be a great motivator. I hope he keeps adjusting to his new bed.

I am just doing cold turkey. We set up his knew toddler bed and room on Monday and all week we told him how this is his knew big boy bed and about sleeping in it. So second night in the bed and it's so far going already better then it did last night 🤞🏻🤞🏻@kimny,

i see you're 21 weeks pregnant. I'd take the front rail off to get him use to being in a big kid bed while still having the comfort of his old crib and then transition to a completely different bed by the time new baby comes

I'm expecting a baby too and will use my son's crib as the new baby's and plan on getting him a mickey mouse bed since he loves mickey mouse so he doesn't feel territorial over his old bed.

i have one of those transitional cribs and took the front rail of the crib off. He started getting out of bed by himself throughout the night and coming to our room but after putting him back a few times he got the hint. Took him like a week or 2 to stop doing that

Around 18 mos both of my girls were ready

I think my daughter was like 20-22 months? Once they can climb out of the crib it's not safe to keep them in there any longer. Plus we needed the crib as well, we just did it cold turkey starting at nap time and my daughter did wonderful, she only gets out of the bed during nap time if she isn't tired, she will play for a little bit and then go back to bed when she's tired, so I just make sure her room is safe and child proof

How long did it take for him to get use to it? And did you cut off the crib cold turkey? @kimny,

on his 2nd birthday after he broke out of the crib lol
