Natural or Epidermal?

The closer I get to the due date, the more people who nag - asking me if I am planning doing a natural or being doped up on epidermal. I've never thought about it until now. I don't really know what to think between the two. Can anyone give me pros and cons of the two? I would google it but last I checked google doesn't get pregnant and wouldn't really know how women feel about the choice. This is nerve wrecking...

Well with an epidural there is no pain they have to remind you to push LOL without the epidural it's excruciating pain and you can't help but the push I've done both I have no problem with that but I think that the risk that everyone talks about is overrated but not having an epidural makes me never want to have kids again LOL but I will say this I only had to push four time before my daughter came and Both labors were 10 hours for my son and my daughter that's my experience everybody is different

I didn't decide before going into labor. By the time I asked for the epidural it's was time to push. As soon as my daughter was out the pain stopped. And honestly I feel like the contractions were worse than pushing. But that's just me. I plan on going medication free next time too.

I did both and no bad experience with neither I have a high pain tolerance so contractions wasn't too bad and I just listened to my body and made it through. With the epidural all was fine I got it when I was 8cm and it just helped me not feel the pushing out part but people are more concerned with the side effects of the epidural which if you move while getting it you can become paralyzed and some people complain of back problems long after delivery later on down the line

All 4 of mine were natural out of hospital births. I really don't consider myself any type of champion or anything because, what works for me isnt going to work for every one. I did what made me comfortable. even having had all types of labors marathon, super quick, posterior, waaay past my due date and one surprise at 37 weeks exactly...

I can honestly say that yes it was intense AF but, was it pain? No. Pushing? Pushing was actually the easiest part. When pushing you know you are at the finish line and you start actually working and are an active part of the progress and letting your baby come down VS. Trying to relax and open as best you can... I find that no matter how tired or emotional or defeated I felt when I felt that first urge to push I found the strength to power through and the best way my husband could describe it was "pure focus"... labor is quite simply like running a marathon. You need to physically and emotionally prepare yourself.

I had three kids 2 years apart with my first husband and when new husband and I got pregnant went 6 years had passed and I had to relearn my body and really, I slacked and could have taken better measures to prepare myself and him. It really showed during my labor process and made for a much more emotionally harder time which made it physically harder. Now we are pregnant again and have become more of a team...

Support, and preparation is key. No matter which route you choose. All my labors have been very special and empowering in different ways and I learn a lot about myself.
