I have a baby shower next Saturday on the 18th. My mother had set it up without me knowing and she has the location being the church I did my best avoiding it when I lived with my mom. I'm expected to give an introduction speech on revealing the gender. And honestly...I'm not happy and I'm nervous. Those church people are very judgemental towards my siblings and especially me. I'm half tempted to be sassy and kinda bitchy when doing the introduction speech of my baby. But in the same aspect to be thankful and grateful of them participating and attending the shower. There's one woman there who is very disappointed in me being pregnant at 18. But she got pregnant at 16 and gave the child up for adoption then left the guy blindly and waited almost 30 years to find her child. And she's disappointed in me as if I'm the first young mom to be in the world. Some of the other people there insult me to my face about how I wear jackets too much, and that when I wear makeup I look "unchristian". They even tell me I should lose weight - this was before I became pregnant. I don't know if I want to be around them. I'll go because there's free food and people went out of their way to help us get baby items since me and my SO can't do so financially yet. I am thankful but I'm not prepared for the insults...
