That's where we're at now, in NJ. Our rent is $1700 a month for two bedrooms, where a mortgage for a house would be more quite a few hundred less.

I live in Rapid City... you're better off owning a home here, because you'll be paying just as much in rent. @nomaci

Our mortage in SD is $1,200 a month. We own a townhouse 3 bedroom and 2 1/2 baths. Main floor and upstairs.

Ours is $437. I live in a small town in Mercer County Kentucky. Not a really big house, but it's enough for us right now. It's not the middle of nowhere. We are only 30 mins from Lexington and 30 mins from Frankfort. Plenty of things to do and see and it's absolutely beautiful out here.

Like @nomaci I live on the outskirts of Knoxville we pay for our morgage 650 a month for 3 bed 2 bath and about an acre of land. Of course I know cost of living is cheaper here. @kailey

I feel your pain. We pay $825 a month for just a rental and our neighborhood isn't that great. 🙁

Absolute middle of nowhere. My fiance is from SD, and it wasn't a mortgage but his rent for a two bedroom apartment with a heated underground garage and an elevator was $450 a month. And that was considered a little expensive.
