Am I the only one who doesn't care about getting child support? lol I feel like I should've sought that out now, but I don't want my ex to have rights whatsoever. I haven't heard from him in over a year, thank God! I've been ignoring him for damn near two years. I mean, I am able to provide anything my child needs plus some, but I haven't been working much while I've been in college this past year. Hopefully I'll be able to work this summer and save up.

No your not the only one! My husband took the same route so he didnt have to give the mother rights. She chose to step out of her kids life at age 7 and never speak to them again. He is now almost 17 and hasn't seen his mother in 10 years. If we wouldve went for child support she would of got rights. This way she has none and its for the best. @babyjjsmommy,

We don't get support for my step sons mother and she has no right it has made life so much easier for him with no set visit or having to go back and forth... He does see her when he wants and that's the why we have done it for the last 10 year work perfect for him

See, that's what my mind set has been the entire time because there's no way in hell I'd even let him get a supervised visit with me there, EVER. @crystalashby86, , @timsprincess0214, and @theinkedmommy, I totally agree, it is his responsibility technically, but he doesn't work anyway so I wouldn't get any help from him even if I did pursue it. It's just sad that no matter how much you did try and help someone they still choose to be a lowlife and live in self pity. I guess it's best to just keep doing it all by myself! It'll be easier with my degree for sure.

Same. Makes me said to think about, because like you said, I just can't understand how a father wouldn't even be concerned about their own child. When he did find out that I had my son, he texted me a few days after and simply said "I can't believe you didn't tell me you had my son." I just ignored it as I had been doing for several months prior and that's the last thing I ever heard from him. I just thought if anything maybe he'd ask about the child, but anytime he texted while I was pregnant it was just to try and get me to talk to him about us. You're right though, my son is so loved he doesn't know the difference. @theinkedmommy,

I don't care about getting it. My son will be 15 this year and his dad never really worked anyway. He's lived with his mother when I met him and he still does. My son was 6 months old when I met my hubby. He's always taken good care of us even though his biological father is a loser. For my sons first Christmas he got a card with $50 from him and his mother. That was the only holiday the were apart of. He hasn't seen him since then.

I did apply for child support a few years ago to put in an account for my son. He was ordered to pay $200 a month lol. He made one $20 payment since then. The case is open but that's all I know. Pathetic really. And a waste of time since he's a real class act. @babyjjsmommy,

How pathetic! I'm glad you found someone that chose to play the father role for your child though. I would be in the same boat if I tried to get child support. I'd probably never see a dime. @brownsugarluv,

Yeah I totally agree with @crystalashby86, Except my step son hasn't seen his mother since he was 7. She totally left his life on her own terms. The only thing I will say is. It isn't always the father that leaves and is a lowlife. You always hear about dead beat dads but there are also dead beat mothers. I've experienced it first hand for alot of years now. No gifts on birthdays or hoildays, not even a phone call. It was court order she have her sons phone number, she has NEVER once called or texted. He has had a cell phone since he was 12. It's been 5 years and counting. Still nothing. Its sad. It doesnt matter if your a women or a man if your not gonna step up and be a parent you shouldnt have a kid. Point blank. @babyjjsmommy,
