Need some advice ladies. Im thinking of stopping breastfeeding n switch to formula. Olivia is 3mths now but due to me still breastfeeding she is still sleeping in our bed (im too tired during the midnight n 3am feeds to put her back in the cot). She wont settle in her bed either n is only settled if i give her the breast in our bed. I feel so guilty wanting to stop as im producing loads but i just want a bit of a routine now that shes getting older n quite frankly i want my bed back. Ive also been expressing n she takes the bottle well. But inbetween feeding n expressing my nipples have taken a battering n are often sore n cracked.

Can anyone advice me on the best way to switch from boob to formula? Which formula to try?

@missy84, maybe express and slow changed, so she still used to the milk 🍼 give more bottles then boob, then introduced formula ??

She's still very young, why don't you let your other half give her a bottle of formula let's say at midnight feed and then breastfeed at 3am or so, she'll still wake up regardless plus soon she'll go through 4 months sleep regression, about her sleeping in her cot it's hard but you have to be persistent no matter how many times she wakes up and don't give in after a few days or so she should get there you can give her a top or so that has your smell on it to help her settle, it's your choice what you decide to do happy mummy = happy baby, on formula wise I gave my daughter cow & gate and never had any problems, good luck hun xx

Thank you ladies. I will try expressing more and bottle feed her more often, see if that helps. She is such a good happy baby that i feel guilty for wanting to quit just so i can get my bed back 😔,i just wake up exhausted even thought when she wakes for her feeds shes barely awake n its more dream feeds than anything x

She'll get there just remember she's still so young, you don't have to switch if you don't want to, just because you'll give her a bottle doesn't mean she'll sleep more or sleep in her cot it's just something you'll have to do no matter what way you feed her all you can do is be persistent when you put her down and make sure you don't let her sleep in your bed I know it's exhausting but you'll get there x

Very true lol. Im going to try be a bit more strict about not having her in our bed n express more. Wish babies come with instructions lol. I feel so clueless sometimes x

Just think about Caitlin's 1 year and 8 months and she's still not sleeping through however she never sleeps in our bed, she loves her bed and her room but every baby is different some sleep, some don't, personally I'm paranoid about co sleeping and it freaks me out that's why no matter how tired I was I never brought her into my bed when she was a baby, it's your choice to make but you have to stick to it and not give in, it does get better and exhaustion just comes with having kids eventually you just get more and more used to it x
