In need of advice on BIRTH CONTROL!
I am a FTM, my son is now 7 weeks old, and we are not wanting to get pregnant again right away. I am exclusively breastfeeding, so I know my birth control options are limited.
I am interested in hearing of anyone else's experiences and recommendations...
@mandi.marie, that's why I started the pill as well when I was 15! Never got pregnant on it though. Probably because I took it same time every day. I have a timer set for 7:00 every morning now.
@kenitra, I was put on birth control at a young age to adjust my inconsistent and painful periods. I have tried many different kinds of patches, pills, and even the Nuvaring throughout the years. I had been taking Ocella for several years when we found out I was pregnant. Also, I have already had my first postpartum period, even while breastfeeding.
@expectingz, we do happen to "scrump" more frequently than most and our beautiful baby boy was conceived while taking the combination pill... I'm no good at taking them consistently each day.
I am not sure how I feel about an IUD, but that may be my best option, so I was hoping to find some discussion on that paticularly...
I ebp and I was told that my pill had to be taken everyday @ the same time...epic fail, no pregnancy tho, thank you Jesus! It's Orthomicronor, so it doesn't dry up your milk I think it's the progesterone only too. If you like scrumbing more than average and you forget pills dispite the alarms, you might want to get and IUD. I am a little scared of those so trying to take the pill it shall be!
@kenitra, I was put on birth control at 11 and am now 25 years old... I've always wondered if, after so many years of continued use, our bodies become accustomed to them.
The only kind that has ever seemed to help has been the combination pills and my first pp period seemed to be just as bad as they have always been! I'm hoping that the progesterone only will be enough because I know that's my only option while breastfeeding.
