Started parenting classes yesterday. 1 step closer to getting my baby boy back from a temporary foster home. He is just over 8 weeks. I’m longing to parent. Lawyer said it could be 6 months to a year that I get him back. I’m praying for sooner. I bought his birth certificate yesterday too.

I'm definitely going to talk to a lawyer as soon as I get settled in Virginia, but does anyone know about how it works if the parents live in different states? Like if he lives in California and I live in Virginia, can I file in California? Especially if the baby was conceived in California.
