I really do love my in laws... but they always want to 'help' and their help is rarely helpful! 😒😓 My mother in law always wants to do dishes while she is here, but she always leaves food stuck on my pans, then I pull them out of the cabinet and have to rewash them before I can cook with them! 🙄😣 and today, i made the mistake of telling them that my husband was going to stop and get a few things after work from the store... they decided they would go instead and get the things I needed! 😒 I explained to them I am very picky about things and only like certain brands... I told them I wanted to bake, and needed Land o Lakes salted butter... they brought me back margarine! 🙄😒 we don't eat that crap here! If you look up it's history, It was originally invented to help fatten up turkeys but actually started killing them... so they colored it yellow and started marketing it as a healthy alternative to butter! 😞 😤 so now my husband is running to the store... and I'm having to wait to bake my banana bread! 😒 guess while I wait I can go rewash some dishes! 😓

Agreed about the butter. I hate using margarine and dont buy it. I'm not picky about what brand of butter though as long as it's salted butter I don't care

@lucifermommy, we did a test with my cookies, and the land o lake butter tasted the best... so when I'm baking I make sure to use it! Thankfully I have an awesome hubby who did not mind going to get it so I can bake for him!

@ncmomma, yeah, my ex husband went through culinary school and I had to help him study for tests and write papers! Molecularly, it is only 2 molecules away from plastic!

@ncmomma, yeah, you'd be surprised by the things the 'market' to us, but it's not really what you think it is... for example fish... they can sell several different kinds of fish as other fish, and no one knows the difference... most 'cod' is actually whiting... which I think is absolutely vial! It's crazy how the usda regulates things... as long as people pay a fee. They can do what they want! 🙄

@ncmomma, most turkey is genetically altered, to have larger breasts... they have to be artificial inseminated... because their body's are too out of proportion to procreate naturally! 😓 we buy most of our meat and vegetables from a local organic farmer who breeds heirloom seeds and live stock... so they have not been genetically altered for larger production... it seriously tastes SO much better! On occasion I buy stuff from the store... mostly fruit, and stuff that's out of season... and we don't always go organic, but we try to make sure we eat pretty clean... certainly not perfect by any stretch, just try to be informed about what we put in our bodies... I feel like I'm always learning new stuff taking to farmers and others at our farmers market... one day we hope to have our own little aquaponics green house and fishery (I'm not a huge fish fan, but my husband loves raising fish)... but that's a ways off in the future! Lol
