I'm extremely anxious to find out the gender of my little one! (My page says I'm only 14 weeks but I'm actually 15 weeks) would it be wrong if I ask my doctor if he can do an ultrasound so I can figure out the gender? Its nerve racking for me as I'm not patient with this kind of thing! Is there anything I can do to possibly predict gender? I heard there's some type of DNA test you can buy at stores and it will predict gender! Just curious 💙💜
I always pay out of pocket at a local 3D/4D place. Your OB will schedule an anatomy scan at around 20 weeks. Most OB's will only do ultrasounds for medical purposes regardless of your insurance. One in the beginning to determine how far along you are and the anatomy at 20ish weeks. I've had the same OB for my last 3 pregnancies and he's given me an extra scan at 13 weeks for gender.. I always get more though because I'm impatient and love seeing my baby.
This pregnancy I'll be doing a panorama test for health reasons.
Do you have any us pics of your baby? Have you tried any theories yet? @melly_17,
Doctors will probably make you wait until 20 weeks to do the full anatomy scan.
You can google keepsake ultrasound places to get an earlier scan but you'll have to pay for it out of pocket.
I had luck with the over the counter Intelligender predictor kit- I did it in each pregnancy and found out each time I was having a boy, but that's not a guaranteed thing. It's more for fun.
I went at 16wks to a private US place. I paid $85 and got to find out I was having a boy. She also surprised me by doing a sneak peek in 3D which was amazing and then I went back at 31 weeks to do 3D and got a discount because I had used them for gender determination. I loved the place I went. I will use them for the next child.
I'm 19, and I'm 15 weeks, I don't know if my hospital, which is where my two doctors are, if they even have a harmony test. They don't have a set week they do their ultrasounds at, I've heard they will do it anytime between 16-20 weeks, but by the time I go into my doctors appointment I'll be 1 day away form being 16 weeks. That's why I'm not sure if I should ask for the harmony test or ask about having an ultrasound done
Mine denied me the harmony test. My clinic DOES NOT do it, they do a basic chromosomal test and if that's flagged then they will do it again and then harmony. They completely refused it because I am too young. Even though I had a friend same age as me, same weeks as me take it.
Im not sure i waited . I didnt find out the gender until 16 weeks 4 days and it was via ultrasound. It doesnt hurt to ask
Will they ask me for a reason why I want the harmony test done? My friend had hers done at 11 weeks because she was having medical issues. I'm afraid they'll say no because I don't have any medical issues as of right now
The harmony test is so you can know the gender early they cant tell you no
@azaleasmommy will they do the harmony test if I ask for it? Or do they have to have a reason to do one? I've got one friend who had a harmony test done but she had to have hers done at 11 weeks for medical reasons
My doctors have been known to do them anywhere from 16-20, they just go based off insurance, if they can have so many ultrasounds. My friend had her first ultrasound done at 20 weeks but that's because she found out she was pregnant at 19 weeks. I just don't know if I should ask when they are going to do the ultrasound
Doctors only do ultrasounds during certain weeks not upon request. my doctor wasn't going to tell me the gender until 20 weeks and I went to a local sonography place and paid a fee for an ultrasound to find out at 14.5 weeks. You can spend money on little tests at local stores but you won't truly know until you get your gender ultrasound. Never rely on a store test to get the gender early because none are ever 100% accurate
I've looked up theories, and I've had symptoms of having a boy and a girl.
