What's some good finger foods for a 6 month old to start on?
Yeh I'm the same. Max has his tea a bit earlier than us so when we're eating he always ends up stealing food off my plate. The only thing I avoid until their older are grapes. I am paranoid about those. But he's been having chopped fruit from 6months. Apple, pear, he's had mango, pineapple. He actually eats whole food better than puree with tiny bits in it 😂
@sara-lou, that's what I'm hoping to do with Harrison. I've given him a whole rusk and he can eat that fine, I'm just always watching him like a hawk though
Obviously we have to watch them carefully & be aware of choking but usually they will gag to help move what's in their mouth. We confuse this with choking but it's just their natural reflex while their learning to eat. It is daunting, especially 1st few times. I did a mix of baby led weaning with both my boys. I only pureed food till 8months with Morgan. I still puree Max fruit as it's a quick way to feed him but he has his dinners whole and finger foods for snacks & after his lunch or tea if he's still hungry.
@sara-lou, I'm terrified of him choking 🙈 but he loves banana so I'll try him with some on toast in a couple weeks 😊 x
@sara-lou, I suppose it'll take some getting used to 😊
