I understand you, but I speak spanish and i want my children to learn both languages and maybe even learn a 3rd language together. I express myself better in english but i speak to them in spanish sometimes in public with my mom so they can practice. Not everyone does it out of spite or with bad intentions. Im sure if you spoke something else you'd practice both. My parents speak english but since spanish is their first language they use it more because its naturally easier. Some of us come to the US to live a better life, to escape poverty, or violence but we don't come to forget our past, where we come from, and never speak our language again simply because we now live here.

But i disagree with people who use their foreign language and look at others in a mean way and make it seem like they're talking about that person. That's not okay.

Drives me crazy! I get that we're a melting pot of all cultures but I think It's incredibly rude to speak a foreign language around other people. Who knows what they're saying! They could be talking about taking your child! If I was to go to a foreign country, I'd be expected to speak their language. @trice4990,

@trice4990 it drives me nuts too. It's like if we were in their country we'd be expected to speak their language, so if their here why not speak English and they can speak their language when their at home?
