The air right now is very very dry depending on where you live. It could definitely be a possibility when your son has a cold as well. Try saline spray ? Or bring him in if you are worried but it's that time of year where it's super dry right now

No not bumped he is sick I don't think the air is dry cause my 9 year old would be having a bloody nose if it is
