Has anyone had the TDap shot for whooping cough while pregnant? Should I get it? Will the baby be ok?

They want you to get it during pregnancy so that the baby gets some of the vaccine. Whooping cough can be lethal to infants and is very easy for them to catch outside of the womb.

@ginac, okay I turned it down my last visit so I can do my research on it and I go Thursday and I've been leaning towards getting the shot but still a little nervous

@shababy yes it's just extra protection I suppose. just like the flu shot u get the shot and still get the flu I guess maybe ask the doctor that question. I do know it it recommended u get it and doesnt hurt baby at all

@beebaby, my bf doesn't have insurance so how much will it be for him to get it?

@ginac, wouldn't the baby be protected though if others choose not to get it?

@shababy I had it. they actually highly recommend u. get it and my doc recommend people who will be around the baby a lot get it as well. it benefits the baby
