You don't need much now.. Don't get discouraged. Keep pumping and stay positive. It will take a few days for your milk to fully come in

Your milk isn't in yet so you won't get much to pump when you do. All you have right now is colostrum

It can take up to a week for your milk to come! The colostrum is enough for him - you can do it!

Babies tummy is roughly the size of a small cherry so they don't need much at this point. That's the thing about pumping. You can see how much you're producing and it can be discouraging when in fact it's all your baby really needs.

I'm not sure what your BF plans are but having baby latch and nurse from you is best. It'll boost your supply better than just pumping. A baby can empty a breast much better than a pump. Baby probably doesn't need more than half to 1 ounce right now. You don't want to overfeed him. It takes 6 weeks for your supply to properly regulate which is why they recommend you wait until then to pump. But as others said it'll take time for you to get true milk and your body to recognize to produce more milk for baby.

I agree with @jacesterlingsmommy I wouldn't worry about pumping right now. I would try to just put baby on breast. My daughter is just 7wks old and when I pump I can barely get any out but when I give her bottles she's up to 4oz a feeding which i can barely pump out at the moment. I only pumped when my milk came in (about 3/4 days after birth) and I had ALOT of milk, I did it to prevent clogged ducts. But then my milk regulated out to what she needed
