Not sure if this is bad... Trevy who is 3 months old feeds about every 3 hours during the day and will go longer at night (wake up 2ce) but will sleep whenever he wants during the day. I'm at a loss of how to get to a schedule of feeding and sleeping.
@erinflaherty818, oh he screams! I would never be able to go longer than 3 hours sometimes.
I tried the waking and feeding every 2 hours... the same thing happened. I wasted more formula than he took most times. He goes from 3-6 ounces each time he eats.
My daughter is the same way. One doctor told me when she hungry she will wake up to eat. Another said i should feed every two hours but I waste more milk by trying to feed he half sleep.
reading online it says a 4 month old should be sleeping around 11 hrs a night. mine barley sleeps 7.... and wakes up frequently for feeds... why???!!! how come my baby doesn't need sleep?! he'll nap around 4 hrs during the day If I'm lucky. but I read they need between 4-6 hrs of nap during the day. so he needs 4 more hours at night!!!
Waking to feed?
My dd is a week old and I was told by her doctor to wake her every 2 hours during the day and 3-4 hours at night to feed her. For the first 3 days I did that and when I would wake her fit a night feeding she was fussy and usually wouldn't go back to sleep and would want to nurse constantly until about 9 am. I tried not waking her last night and she slept beautifully! She woke up around 6 hours in and ate then slept another hour or so and ate again. Is it ok to let her sleep?
WOULD YOU RATHER...
1. Have a baby that naps during the day and won’t sleep at night.
2. Have a baby that won’t get any naps during the day and sleep all night.
I’d go for #1 lol
To all the mommys out there! When did your baby stop waking up for night feedings and did you have to sleep train them to do so or did they just eventually stop waking up to eat! My son eats more at night than during the day and this mommy is TIRED!
Is it normal to sleep a lot during your first semester to sleep a lot ? I sleep like 18 hours during the day
@kstout711, I had similar questions and I was always told that the baby will create their own schedule and depending on how old, wake them after ___ hours.
