Does anyone deal with a SO that has legit mental issues? Like has to take meds and all? I know…

My man is bipolar, but he doesn't take meds for it because he also hates doctor's and doesn't trust them FML

Not anymore, he used to be in the army when we met and was on all kinds of stuff for depression, anxiety and much more, it was bad 😐

My ex. He took pills then I guess around the time we met he started refusing them. I never really noticed anything, you know? His adopted mom told me he has ADHD, Bipolar, and apparently schizophrenia... I think something else, but idunno.. Over time he seemed less and less like the Person I met. He'd tell me he changed because I made him? He constantly smokes weed and acts like he can't stop. He says "it's who I am. Stop trying to change me." Etc... I stopped being happy and felt so so miserable and gave up. Now he Threatens to file for custody, take her for WEEKS at a time. All because I gave up on him "at his worst."

My boyfriend takes Prozac for anxiety and depression, got it from his mother. He's a completely different person without his medicine, you should of seen how bad our relationship was before he was put on it.

@p0790 @chaaaachix ive have dealt with this shit for 3 years now. He was diagnosed bipolar with manic episodes. Idk if he's taking his meds and if he is, its not enough. I am so tired of it. He isn't the same person anymore and this version has no feelings about anything and that scares the shit out of me. I wouldn't be with him if it wasn't for our daughter. I had filed for divorce then i found out i was pregnant so i decided to work on us. It was great up until a couple months ago. And now, i don't even want to try. I just want to take my daughter and run. But i can't do that to him. I feel stuck and its the worst feeling because my daughter deserves so much better.

@courtt im sure my husband is depressed and has anxiety as well. He is just a blank slate. He can be so mean and not even bat an eye. It f**kin sucks. He had a full on manic episode and went missing for like 14 hours 😔😔

He needs to go to a doctor. After my boyfriend got his medication we went to therapy a few times cause I felt like I could express myself so much more there and she would have to explain to him why I was feeling certain ways and help him understand. Helped SO MUCH

@courtt he does. He is on latuda. But i think he needs a higher dose. And i went to his last dr appt with him and he denies there is anything wrong. His doctor is an asshole anyway. The wife is always wrong...at least thats how i felt.

My boyfriend had to get a higher dose of his medicine because they started him really low. And sounds to me like he needs a new doctor

Compromise and a lot of communication on both ends. It won't hurt to see another doctor

@courtt this is his 2nd doctor. I have been dealing with this for almost 4 years. I feel i have given all i can...for real though. I can NOT help him if he refuses to help himself. That is unfortunate

That is true. If he's not willing to get help it's no use
