@jacesterlingsmommy it just breaks my heart so much. We've lived here for two years. Never been late on rent, never missed a payment, have fixed everything ourselves that we can when things go wrong. And then he just throws us under the bus like this. Like...he loves money more than he loves his children or anything else. My boyfriend has said that for a long time now and I never believed it until today.

Understandable. Well now you know his true colors. It will forever change your relationship with him. Do what ya gotta do and just get out of there. Hopefully you'll find something better to live in. If you're BF is working that much your FIL must be charging way too much to live there anyway for you guys to not have much. You can get rental places without credit too.

@jacesterlingsmommy our rent is only $600 a month. My boyfriend makes about $925 a check. But after rent, then there's electric which is $250 bc our fridge and air unit are 20+ years old and consume A LOT of power, water, Internet (a necessity since I'm in school and it's all online), car insurance, health insurance, phone bill, and the gym (which is also necessary bc my career is in personal training). It all adds up to about $600. Food is about $100 every 10 days, not including Isabelle's food, formula (which WIC won't cover), and diapers. We use one check for rent and one for bills. Usually by the day before he gets paid, we're under $20 in the bank. We make too much for any kind of assistance even though we're barely getting by. It's so stressful. I know me working would help but even now he doesn't want me to bc he feels like it would just be too much on my plate.

Are there any cheaper apartments nearby? Idk your area. I have a brand new 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment we pay $425/month and includes water/sewer and trash pickup. If you got into another place hopefully stuff wouldn't be breaking down and your power bill would be much less. Wic won't help with her formula? Or just because you make too much? Honestly thats what we make a month and we get food stamps and wic to help out. $925/month for a family of 3 to live off of isn't very much in my opinion to make too much for assistance. I'd just think there'd be some place that could help? At least you only have school until August.

@jacesterlingsmommy he makes about $1800 a month, $925 a check. He's really only making this much bc of overtime. If his hours ever go back to normal he'll be making $500 a check. WIC doesn't cover Enfamil here for some reason. I'm looking around at places currently but there's nothing in our area, even for rent that isn't at least $800 a month.

Oh I thought that was $925 a month he was getting. I had to get a prescription for wic to cover my formula. Granted my state has Enfamil though. There isn't a similac equivalent she can have? Maybe your FIL will change his mind?

@jacesterlingsmommy something in similac just doesn't sit well with her. We tried talking to him about it, but he's made up his mind. He doesn't want to fix any of the house, and he doesn't want to pay for another year of homeowners insurance that he's required to have. He's just all about money.

I'm in southern illinois in a small rural farm town. If I went across the river to missouri I'd probably pay about that.

@scurlock.mommy my husband makes like 2560 a month and we get wic and foodstamps ($80) or rent is 1100 and with all the bills my costs are $2000 a month and extra food is about $250 and diapers, infant Tylenol, destin and soy milk that i need extra of is all about $120 a month. I also get medical for me and my daughter. My total left is is give or take $190 for the whole month

@savvysmom I feel like if I found a job we could probably make it. He's also looking for a better job that isn't nights. My biggest fear is that his hours go back to how they were before and he only ends up making $500 a check and $1100 a month. We have some time before we have to be out, but it's still a super stressful situation that we didn't see coming. We had WIC for a while but it no longer covers the formula my daughter is on and we don't eat most of the stuff that they cover (we really only used the $10 voucher for fresh fruits bc I make everything from scratch) and every time we go up to the office, either Isabelle or myself gets sick. We've tried before but we make just enough that we don't qualify for food stamps. Isabelle and I are on Medicaid but my boyfriend has health insurance through his work, so it's about $120 a month.

@scurlock.mommy oh wow! I understand how stressful this must be! Whats your chances on finding a job you could take isabelle with you? Maybe ask at mom and pop shops if they are hiring?

@savvysmom my career field is in personal training so that definitely wouldn't work after I got my degree. We have someone to watch her during the day, it's just being alone with her at night on top of that and school that's the stressful part.
