Hey mama! I'm a breastfeeding peer councilor, let me suggest some comfort measures for you!
•take a warm shower and let it run over your breasts
•warm washcloths in the sore tissue
•nurse baby on demand
•gentle massage
•wear a supportive bra
It's actually not suggested to pump in the early weeks like this. It could cause you to have an over active letdown making it hard for baby to latch and nurse, it also could cause to much milk. Your body is going to adjust to babies needs. You will make exactly what you take! So unless you intend to add an extra pump for many weeks to come, at the same time every day, it could cause you some harm!

I should add, things are different if baby isn't gaining weight, or isn't full term!!!

I pumped since day 1 and never had an issue it helps to have a manual pump hop in the shower (keep breast dry) and pump I was very engorged even when I latched and pumped my supply slowly adjusted I still have an over supply but it's manageable and great bc I have a good stash for when I go back to work
