My husband's supervisor is so stupid. My husband told him he had to go because our daughter needs to go to the ER and he already has 40 hours this week. His supervisor told my husband that 102 fever isn't bad your not suppose to give your child any medication (Tylenol and ibuprofen) at all. Oh and your not suppose to give your child a bath when they have a fever or liquids. That your suppose to take your child in when they get 104 fever. Who in their right mind does not try to break their child's fever. My husband just looked at him like he was stupid and said "yeah I'm taking my daughter in. You can do what you want with your child but when it comes to my daughter I will do what's best in mine and my wife's eyes." Has anyone heard of not giving your child medication, liquids or a bath for a fever? Please tell me we are not the only ones that thought he was stupid.

Never heard of that but my daughters doctor says no ER until 104 but I take her in at 102 because honestly 104 can cause brain damage

When my daughter runs fevers I get a washcloth and dampen it with not cold water but just cool and put it on her forehead. Real cold water can send a child into shock with a fever.

While a fever of 102 isn't really bad, it can spike up super high really fast, so it's better to be safe. Especially as an infant. And really, liquids are like mandatory when you're sick, and a bath is what doctors tell you to do! We were told to lay off the Tylenol and let the fever burn itself out, unless it started climbing or lasted more than a day or two.

Sad how some people push their opinions on others. Our pediatrician told us to worry at 104 or more unless our daughter is not responsive. I have always done the luke warm bath to bring her fever down naturally as she gets high fevers and they stick around for up to 3-5 days. Little remedies makes an all natural fever reducer. Also, amazon sells these natural fever reducer wipes that contain essential oils and they really work when your trying to not medicate a low grade fever of 100.9 or lower as we were told no meds unless above 100.3. Hope your daughter is feeling better.

When sick, fluids are essential. Dehydration is one of the most dangerous things when a person is sick. That's just dumb. And medication and lukewarm baths can help reduce a fever.
