We took him to the baby store when he was 8 days, and the mall when he was 3 weeks. So long as you take precautions, like keeping baby in the stroller, maybe cover it with a blanket (checking how warm he is periodically), and keeping people at a distance, it should be fine.

I take my babe out already. I don't let anyone touch him, but we go wander around stores or visit his dad's work

My son was born healthy and I took him out a week old to Manhattan. Depends on the baby and parents preference tbh.
