My son has a really bad stomach bug with throwing up and diarrhea! Anyone know of good remedies? Or good foods to cook?

More than likely they'll tell you to give him Pedialyte. He's prolly dehydrated.

I believe it's air borne so if she's living with you, it was prolly inevitable

@v.moya he just woke up and still can't keep anything down. He didn't pee all night and still hasn't peed. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow but might push it to today. We saw the doctor in Monday and he said everything would be fine

@v.moya girl, my son got it from this 15 yr old that lives with us. She was sick for like a week and I'm assuming she didn't wash her hands properly and touched my son. I'm livid

When he first caught it? Yeah I believe so. The day before we were at the doc office and i was in the waiting room for almost two hrs that day and there were a lot of sick pple there. And then not even two days later after my son caught it, I caught it.

@v.moya was your baby sleepy when he had the bug?

I had to also hold his mouth shut to make sure he would swallow. I bought either the plain no flavor one or the Orange one

The biggest thing with stomach bugs is dehydration. You have to force the Pedialyte bc it's the only thing that's gonna pull them thru

My son doesn't like it either. I had to force it with a syringe. I gave him about 1.5 - 2.5 from the syringe every hr on the hr and jus an oz of formula or two every hr on the hr

@v.moya tonight he threw up twice without having any milk and te the first time he does it. Really bad farts too. I'm hoping the end of this is near!!!

How many oz of water and milk did you do? I have some pedialyte but he doesn't like it. @v.moya

Umm more with a feeding than without bc of the milk. But you can make rice cereal with water instead of the formula/ milk. The pedialyte is gonna help with giving him electrolytes and since he's throwing up so much the Pedialyte will keep him hydrated.

And yes a doctor clarified to do this regiment for My son.

Give him some Pedialyte. Anywhere from one- two oz before his feedings. Try jus sticking with rice cereal. This is what I did to get my son thru it

@v.moya, @sainzayat he's going on 2 weeks this weekend :( he doesn't like apple sauce so I've been trying my best to feed him anything healthy. I made a soup today and just gave him some soft vegetables and the soup water that should be filled to the T with vitamins and proteins. I took him to the ER today because he was so sick today! He couldn't keep anything down last night or this morning so I got worried sick! He looked awful. They just gave him a little pill to help with nausea. I hope he gets rid of this horrible bug by this weekend.

My daugther has same problem :( We went to an emergency yesterday. Doctor gave us home care instructions which are:

- Provide her plenty of clear fluids. Water is the best.

- If throw up try a smaller amount when eat

- Don't give milk until she is back on a regular diet

Stick with the BRAT diet or you'll never get rid of it. My son had it for almost two weeks
