My child is mixed and my name choice is lovely but my family is always saying it's a white name

Umm no I have people say ohh typical name or something if I say something but honestly I can never tell what people think is black name or a white name. Like I don't follow because they are all just names and I'll name my child whatever I want I guess

I grew up with everyone telling me I have a black girls name and that my parents must of been on drugs... same with my twin brother his name is Kiyan... our names have the same letter just mixed up. I think Audrey is beautiful! ❤

I know plenty of people who are not of Irish decent who name their child a traditional Irish name... but they don't get any hate for it.

When I first had my daughter, my husband wanted a j name, the first born sons are always named James well we had a girl so she is Jamie, and I always said if I had a girl that her middle name would be my middle name. So she is Jamie Lynn. My cousins gave me the hardest time saying so she's named after Jamie Lynn spears? Everyone is going to think that when she goes to school. I straight up told them.... no kid is going to know that when she goes to school.

My name is Brianna and I get that I "have a black girls name" all the time. I'm pretty sure a name is just a name and doesn't have a freaking box to check it's race or ethnicity. I know a few other girls with my name and we're all different nationalities, Italian, Irish, Caribbean, and Hispanic. People who put "races" on names are ignorant and I make sure I let them know that when I get one of those comments. Like, am I supposed to be offended? All the Brianna's I know are beautiful girls so they can suck it. Don't let anyone else's ignorance even put space in your head. I think the name Audrey is lovely and elegant and timeless💋

I had people do the same to me. It's so frustrating that a name can't be a name anymore. I'm sorry you're having to deal with this.
