I keep getting told that I need to start giving my son water now that he's almost 6 months. I thought that since he's breastfed he doesn't need water since breastmilk has such a high water content. Breastfeeding mamas, am I correct or should I start giving him a little water??

water is ok to give at 6 months old. you would mainly offer water when the baby starts eating solids.

You're right the only reason to give water is maybe an ounce or two to teach him how to use a sippy cup
