I feel so bad for my little dude, our apartment is right next to the park and he wants to play with the other kids but the kids in my apartment complex are absolutely insane! They run around screaming at the top of their lungs, rough house way to hard, drive their electric scooters around almost taking people out as they go by and just have no respect for any of the other people; I have had to ask them to not lean on my front window twice this week and have caught them looking into my bedroom window more than twice. Am I being too much of a helicopter parent not letting him go play with the other kids?

You are fine!! You don't want him learning those bad habits from someone else. I've had to do that with my daughter and she was in preschool. This one little girl would seriously tell other little girls that she couldn't be friends with them because they weren't pretty enough. She was friends with my daughter but she would easily make my daughter feel bad on some days and I honestly told my daughter, why would you want to be around someone who makes you and others feel bad, you should make a new friend or more friends.
