Is there anyone here who has an openly honest relationship with their MIL?? I feel she is being too much and does not respect my feelings, but im too afraid to tell her that cuz I know shell get offended. My baby girl is 2 months old and she has been constantly asking us if she can take her for the weekend. My husband and I have had fights over it cuz he thinks its a good idea but I know its too soon! My inlaws are 2 hours away from me!! I think this is common sense. I expressed that im not ready but she doesnt understand. Its not easy when my own husband doesnt either. How can people be so oblivious and ignorant?!! Ive always been a doormat in life but when it comes to my kid im stepping up! How do I express my true feelings without causing a fight?

It's your kid and what you say goes. If you take care of the baby pretty much 100% of the time then your SO has no say so and neither does your MIL. Make that clear, I had to with my SO and his mom. And if there is a fight it's for a good reason, if they can't respect how you feel on the subject they 9 times out of 10 won't take care of the baby you tell them too. If they can't follow your rules on one thing they won't do it on another. I learned that the hard way with my oldest. Plus times have changed since they have had kids, They may do something not knowing it and hurt your baby. Good luck honey. Some times mils are hard to deal with. Feel free to message me if you want.

@beebaby, You are absolutely right 👌. I have always had the tendency to run from controversy, but im learning that having kids makes you face them head on. Heres to fighting Goliaths 💪 a.k.a MIL's. Every move is for my baby so its all worth it!
