In honor of two weeks (yesterday) here's my birth story!!! 💕

So on January 25th, I had decided I was tired of getting my hopes up thinking I was in labor. I decided I was gonna give it to God and chill. So I went shopping, took a relaxing bath, planned a romantic meal with my hubby and movie night. We did the deed and immediately after I felt weird. I went to the bathroom and my mucus plug was coming out. I went to lay back in bed, but started having weird crampy pains. my husband asked if I wanted him to stay home from work, (he works graveyard) but I said I was fine and it wasn't labor. The weird cramps persisted but they were not like how people described contractions so I ignored it. They were not time able but they continued to get worse and worse in pain. I could still walk around and move though. I called my mom and she said we should go get checked out just to make sure so we did. We got to the hospital and I WAS having contractions, every 2 minutes! but I wasn't dilating. they had me walk the hospital for 2 1/2 hrs and see if I'd progress. I went back and was dilated to 3. they admitted me.

LABOR WAS PAINFUL! They kept trying to do the epidural but it wasn't working. I was really emotional because I could feel everything, and my contractions were really strong and every minute. But I was stuck at a 4 in dilation for about 12 hours. It was awful. Finally, around 3:00pm I felt like I had to poop, which I heard was a sign to push lol, so I had my mom and my hubby go get the nurse. The nurse came in and I was fully dilated! We started to push as the doctor came to the hospital. They announced they saw the babies head, but unfortunately the baby's heart rate was going down and he had pooped in the womb. they made me stop pushing and immediately I was terrified I was going to have a c section or something would happen to my baby. Finally the doctor arrived and had me push again, but ended up cutting me to get the baby out faster. i was so scared i just wanted him to be okay. We pushed a couple times and at 3:54 my beautiful son was born! And they were able to clesr the meconium without it infecting his lungs, and His heart rate went back. It was the most empowering, painful, surreal, out of this world experience. My advice to pregnant mommies is to understand that labor is unpredictable and doesn't always go as planned, but you just have to focus on the prize at the end.
