Can someone please describe to me what contractions are suppose to feel like and what "tightening" feels like!! My midwife says it's a tightening feeling I have no clue what that's suppose to feel like. I've read online but haven't been very helpful!! Thanks!

You will know when you have contractions it feels like your insides are ripping apart at least that's what I felt when I was induced sadly my body didn't do itself & tightening your stomach along will be rock hard
I was told it feels like a really bad period cramp. I never felt my contractions. I just had back pain & it got worse so I went to the hospital & found out I was in labor. Everyone's different. Towards the end it was still back pain but I felt pressure down there that's how I knew I needed to start pushing soon. I have a high tolerance of pain but everyone is different
It's pretty hard to explain. When I had contractions they were just a horrible period cramp that was unbearable. But after the epi, it literally felt like tightening of your stomach. Like every thing got super tense inside and idk how to explain! lol but you'll understand once you start having them you'll just know
Usually starts with mild cramping in Lower abdomen or back. Tightening is when your tummy gets rock hard for a few then stops and a lot of times that will accompany the cramping.
