What birth control to have? I have the Mirena currently and Ive been bleeding for the past 7 months…

I have the nexplanon implant and so far to been awesome. I've had it almost a month.

@britt16, can you get it out whenever you want? Any weight gain with it?

Yes. You can. It's good for theee years but anytime you want it out they can do it. So far I haven't gained any weight. @trice4990,

Mirena is a IUD, so you can't get pregnant and you will bleed because that IUD has no hormones. Hence the regular bleeding every month. Mirena lasts up to 10 years. If you didn't want to bleed then you should've gotten Paraguard which has hormones and can lasts up to 5 years. Then there is one more brand that has hormones and is a yearly IUD.

I've had nexplanon for a year and I have actually lost weight easier and had periods that lasted a few weeks off and on but it didn't bother me and I can take it out whenever it just sits right under your skin in your arm and it's great that it lasts 3 years

@tbucket, I'm fine with bleeding but I gush brown every day 24/7! I'd gladly take a period over this!

@jaytee3995, yeah I'm gonna have to look into that one. At this point though I'd just rather have a period

@trice4990, my mom had it for 5 m and bleed constant and took it out, my sister had it for 8m and bleed without no stop, took her a yr to get pregnant and she lost the baby, doctor said that it's now shown there are issues with fertility after using it.

@trice4990, I was on Generous birth control pills (they are chewable too which is cool, mint flavor) for a year
