I'm needing to vent. I just don't understand shitty parents. My son's friend is always being left in the dust by his mom. His mom is my friend of 20+ yrs.
She's an awful mother. She leaves her kids with nothing. Puts them last. Holds her endless new boyfriends first. I've been watching for years. Sometimes I confront her after her child confides in me. She gets offended, but it falls on deaf ears.
Her children and I are very close. I've been there since they were born. There at their births. They stay with me. They run to me when home is tough.
Today the son came to school without his project. He was ashamed. My son asked what happened he told my son that his mom wouldn't buy him the styrofoam for the needed project. 😕
She was literally getting her nails done two days ago. It wasn't a money issue. Just yesterday she was showing me the new purse and the wallet she bought for her 3rd boyfriend of the yr.
Ugh, I hate watching this kid suffer.

I don't understand why she keeps having more when it's clear to me that she doesn't care about her children but it's true that she probably doesn't realize the wrong she's going because she's getting help.

@dalling012589, Sad part is she's pregnant now. 😑 She already ignores the two she's got.

This is heartbreaking to see as a mother. Kids need their moms and no child deserves to be brought into this world to be neglected like that. Bless your heart for giving that boy the love and care that his mother is not providing . ❤️

Smh. My ex bf was super happy when her daughter was 2 and she bought her stuff for herself (candies and goodies) until then they were only for her, I was like wtf? Fortunately she has grown up into an awesome mommy. I hope you're friend does as well.

@jtjrpsmmy, sadly it's because her mom never made her a priority, she's decided now that she's 'grown' she will make herself a priority... however, by doing that, she's repeating the same pattern! It's sad how people can come from something, and still go full circle! 🙄😒

@dreamermom, I don't get why people do this. She was raised in a shit hole herself. I remember her life back when we were little. It was a nightmare. Her parents were the same and she's repeatedly doing the exact same. She of all people should know how the hell it feels, but she doesn't care!! I tell her she's her mother 10x worse.

It's beyond frustrating... but thankfully they have you in their lives, so that they can see what they are experiencing is NOT normal! And hopefully, having you in their lives will help them to be better parents in the future, and not repeat the example they have been given! 😓

@allyk.xmommy, Yes, I totally get that felling. My thing is I always offer to pick up the slack. Like tonight he's coming here to get my son's left over supplies. I sorta hate doing it though, because then it just lets her off the hook. She knows someone will do it. That's why she couldn't care less. However, it's not the child's fault.

I hate this. A lot. Not only did i go through it as a kid, but I watch it happen with kids i babysit or cousins. And it stresses me out to the point I end up doing more than I should as a cousin or sitter bc i know what it feels like to be ditched and pushed to the side
