Any mom's that maybe home schooling there kids or have any tips on how i should start off by teaching my 5yr old son how to read. His school delay everything and i feel he behind. He already hate homework and at times i get frustrated which makes him become the same. Is there anything that i can be doing to get the ball rolling?

I learned to read at the age of 2. My mom would set down news papers and have me circle letters. Then we moved on to certain words. Flash cards are amazing too.

@melindaflowers929 I don't know. Everyone is different. As long as you stay consistent and don't give up it will work wonders . Just try different ways. Some kids learn best through visual. Videos and flashcards. Some do best with audio, like books on tape. And some kids have to jump in to reading. Look up sight words and sounds. So much information out there.The only hard part when it comes to learning to read is someone teacher or student giving up.
