Hello! Any mama's on here using cloth diapers?? I'm trying to get in the habit but only have a few that fit my newborn the rest are too large. I'm starting to think I was a little ambitious with the whole cloth diapering😥 any tips for wash and routine?? She's got such sensitive skin, we can't use wipes or any old diaper on her but I feel like the diapers are making my washing machine stink!
@rebekahmartinez2012, also I saw babyganics on the safe list for cloth diapers 😊
@babyamama, We use dreft right now because it has enzymes in it that help to break down the poo and get the diapers cleaner! I want to start using babyganics soon, but I have to research to see if it is cloth diaper safe or not! Our diapers always smell fresh and clean when they are finished! Good luck!
I have a boy he's only 2 months but I have been doing the basic trifold with the extra fold in the front which has been working really good for me. But I hear that doesn't work too well for girls. 😔
@kays2303, thanks so much! any particular fold that you find works best? The only ones that got are covers and I'm having folding issues lol. Just still getting the hang of it. So far the origami fold is what's working best, but she's still springing leaks left and right!
@rebekahmartinez2012, thank you!! The only ones that fit her right now are the covers, so we're using prefolds- they're kind of trickery on such a tiny lady! I'm still getting the hang of it. I'm thinking I'll find it easier when we can start using pockets! What detergent do you use? I'm using seventh generation, but I'm going through it like crazy because it's just not very strong.
I have an almost 8 week old son in cloth diapers! We just love them, my husband likes them as much as I do! We had to use nb disposable diapers for the first few weeks of his life but around 1 month old he finally started fitting into the cloth diapers. We did have a few leaks at first just because he was still a teensy bit too small for them but now they're working awesomely! During my pregnancy we created a nice sized stash of pocket diapers, all in ones, and all in twos, we have enough diapers for about 32 diapers changes. I wash every third day. My baby is EBF so we just put the whole diaper in the wash since breastfed poop is actually water soluble! I set the washer on the maximum water level and use the hot water setting and longest time setting. I use a full cap of detergent when I wash them. I tumble dry on the delicate setting and low heat. In the summer I hope to sun them dry when possible to save energy. I hope that helps! I was so disappointed at first when he was way too little to fit into them, but that stage passed quickly and now we're in them exclusively! Our washer doesn't seem to have any issue with smell though, so I'm sorry I can't help with that part. Good luck and God bless!!
I love love cloth diapers. The newborn stage is a little tough, but it gets easier. At first I would rinse my diapers out before putting them in the washer. My son is two months now I just put it for an extra rinse and that has worked for me. I also bought a lot of AIO turns out they're not my favorite. lol I love the cover and per fold inserts. I was every 3 days I have about 25 diapers. 22 are AIO's i got of Craigslist. I just purchased 3 more covers. They're easy, you can just wipe and reuse, that's a lot but I hope it helped
I have purchased a diaper cloth sprayer.. it connects right to your toilet and when they poo you rinse and flush ... also when using cloth diapers always keep washing machine cleaner on hand... tide makes the best one and it's like $5 for three months but I have small washer so I only use half a pack and I get twice the use! Hope this helps! 😊@babyamama,
Im a FTM and I'm really deciding on Cloth diapers... any of you ladies use them...or both disposable and cloth? I say disposable for when someone in the family babysits and don't know how to use the cloth diapers #HelpPlease
Probably a cray question to ask, but when did y’all start to wash your newborns clothes and putting them away? Like I’ve been getting clothes since I found out what I was having but I haven’t taken off tags yet or washed anything. I’m 30 weeks. It’s crazy because with my other 3 kids I didn’t really wash a lot of their stuff at first (got lazy) ALSO what laundry detergent did you use if you didn’t use Dreft? Because i saw Pyrex for Baby an didn’t know if anyone tried it??
Okay ladies I need help . I'm trying to keep my skin clear . I wash my face and use face moisturizer but I'm still getting pimples .
Blowout ?
My two month old has at least one diaper blowout everyday. It gets all over his clothes, car seat, blankets and me. At this rate I won't be able to give any of his clothes away, they all have poop stains on them. I have a spray and wash that I use to saturate the stains before I pre-soak them..The stains still don't come out. He wears huggies brand diapers. Not sure if theses diapers just truly suck or if I should go down a size. Also, what is a good remedy for stains? TIA
After a bunch of research and doing disposable diapers with my oldest child I have decided to use cloth diapers with this one. Does anyone here use cloth or have used cloth that can offer any advise?
@babyamama, thank you!!
