has anyone else had/has a thyroid problem while pregnant? I was put on thyroid medicine because my thyroid hormones aren't where they are suppose to be. I have to go back on the 16th to recheck my thyroid but I'm afraid it isn't gonna be better (my mother has thyroid issues)..

if it doesn't get better will it make me high risk?

yes I am currently on medication that my ob has put me on. she wants me back on the 16th so check if it has gotten better. I guess my issue is a different case. I have the opposite of the usual thyroid issue. like people have slower heart rates, I have a faster heart rate

It's very common to have thyroid problems during pregnancy and pretty easy to manage with medication. It does take a while to get into your system and regulate things. Your doc will likely check your levels monthly. Did your ob prescribe the medication? You could see an endocrinologist if you want an opinion of a specialist. I had monthly blood tests sent to both ob and endocrinologist. We had to adjust my levels several times.

Thyroid ultrasound. I went in for my physical today and the dr checked my thyroid. She seemed off when she was checking it and checked it over and over. I have hypothyroid and I'm taking me my meds. I did mention I thought it was low but nothing much. Well she left the room and came. Ack in and said she wanted me to get a thyroid ultrasound as soon as possible because it was pretty enlarged. Has anyone had this done before? What do they look for?
