Struggling to work with a bunch of people where I'm the only mother. My owner's idea to help me keep my clientele while on maternity leave is to come to the salon one or two days a week to do my best clients. Yeah that's not going to happen with a breastfeeding newborn and a toddler to take care of all while I'm bleeding like a stuck pig! The worst thing is she has a son, he is 21 and has forgotten what it's like. I'm so upset by her I don't know what to do.

Luckily I don't have to deal with that and my boss doesn't have kids. Just tell her nicely I will not be able to do that and I will recommend someone while I'm going and I will prebook them out a couple so that they will see me as soon as I'm back.

Legally you can not work the first six weeks anyways!

I did that with my first child last year and apparently that wasn't good enough.

Ick find somewhere else that is not acceptable I would not deal with that shit and you tell her well legally I cannot work for the first six weeks so I will get a doctors note and you will have to wait those six weeks until I can come back. How long have you been there? If you are busy and she thinks you are valuable she will work with you

I've been there for 8 years

Omg!!! That's so rediculous you def can stand up for yourself she can suck it then. You bring her in so much money she will have to work with you I hope you can figure it out. Legally she has to give you those six weeks!

I'm taking at least ten week just like I did with my first. She can suck it up either way. It's just not easy going to work feeling like an outsider.
