Soo, my mom is taking her week of vacation when I go into labor and is supposed to be staying at our house to help with the baby. It's not that I don't appreciate it, but my husband will also be off work and I kinda want this to be our family time getting used to having a baby together. Idk how to feel about it lol. I know everyone will want to be visiting and everything, I just want my husband and I to have our little bonding time with her.
@mcrowell0970, that's really the only thing I'll give him a pass on. Cause you have to get all up in there and I guess that could be a little weird for a man. It didn't really bother me but that was my job for a while lol.
Yes you will. My husband and I split the bill. while I rested he held the baby and took care of them and he would just bring me the baby to feed. he did majority of the diaper changes and comforting. It worked out well. You need to rest after all that
@beebaby, That's my thinking about it. I do want us to have quality time but then again, I know I'm gonna be hurting and tired af
Yes you do. Very quickly but I don't know your mother. she may be sweet and super helpful and your hub might appreciate avoiding diapers
@beebaby, I know I don't get it either. Like I've worked at a daycare and changed plenty of diapers and it never made me feel weird to change a little boy's diaper. I'm hoping once she actually gets here that he'll see it's his daughter and it's just natural. Bc that's a loooot of diapers. 😳 and yeah I know what you mean! This is my first so a little different for me.. I have a little bit to think about it so idk :/
He is gonna have to at some point. it's not like her stuff is gonna change lol. I never understood that when guys said that. I guess it is up to you at this point. I just know I don't need the extra stress but I also have 2 other kids to worry about.
@beebaby, @newlywedmama21, @mommy.to.sterling, @courtneye26, the only thing is she lives 5 hours away :/ so like if she comes up here when she's born, she'll have to go back and then come back the next week. And also I was thinking, it might help if she did stay the first week. And I need to see what y'all think about this. My husband said he doesn't feel right changing her diaper since he'd have to get all up in her parts. And it's not because he doesn't want to help, he's excited to be able to help me and everything. He just feels so wrong bc he doesn't want to touch her down there. I can understand that to an extent, but I done told him I ain't changing all her diapers by myself. I can deal with like helping him adjust and letting him change the pee diapers and me change the really bad poop ones where you have to get in there. But not the whole time. Sorry for the long comment.
really. and everytime my mother in law comes she always has a bunch of stuff that her son has to help her do so they are constantly gone by themselves while I'm sitting at the house but really don't mind because she is gone. He is my only help so she aint doing that when the baby comes. She can come down for the day only but your not staying here @newlywedmama21 ughhhh
I would do alternating weeks. Husband and you for a week or until he goes back to work and then have your mom come stay. I needed the help when I had my child. My boyfriend stayed for maybe 3-4 days and then my mom was here for a week. There are times where you and your husband will be extremely tired and need the rest I wouldn't necessarily x your mom out of the equation. Just my personal thought.
amen to that. @beebaby . my aunt from another state called me and TOLD me she was coming to stay in my house when baby comes to "help with my other kids"...um no!! I mean i love you and I miss u but its gonna be a while before u can do that so....cool your jets. if anything u can take them in a hotel but I don't need u up under me and the new baby. and she's like well I can't help u in a hotel....well then u gotta wait til I'm ready. yes I have other kids but I'm not interested in adding to the chaos and being a host on top of it. sheesh.
@newlywedmama21 yes because they truly are in the way. you gotta do everything for the baby anyway especially if your breastfeeding. I don't want to be stuck in my room all day or have to put clothes on to come out in my own living room because your there. negative. you come for the day and go home
Tell her now. Hey mom, can you take a few days after the baby is born and come help.
@newlywedmama21, yeah and my brother was talking about coming and staying when I first had her. Like I don't care for everyone to come visit in the hospital, that's fine. But I don't want everyone spending the night at my house while I'm trying to get used to being a new parent
yeah u need to put ur foot down. I'm like @beebaby...I already told them no guests til at least a week after. and I don't even have a guest room so no u will not be on my couch all in the effin way. we need our space and time to bond.
@beebaby, @mommy.to.sterling, I wouldn't care for her to come to the hospital or whatever bc I know everyone does that. I just wish she could take the week after like you said @ecahanes. She just takes things the wrong way sometimes so I don't want her to think I don't want her here
Why don't you ask her to take the second week off when your husband goes back to work? My mom is going to take a couple days off once my hubby goes back to work
Just tell her. she can't do anything but understand. you go through a lot and you don't want everyone in your space, your bleeding and leaking from everywhere. You don't want to have to host guests also.
@beebaby, that's how I feel but I don't wanna be rude about it :/ I know everyone's excited bc this is like the first grandchild she has besides her husband's grandkids. But I'd like to get settled in first before having everyone invade my house lol
You should. we aren't allowing anyone until the week after the baby and your not staying. I want my space
My world stopped
I was changing the laundry over and my husband went to use the restroom. Our 20 month was in the room with our 10 year old and climbed up on the bed and fell, face first, landing on her head. Our bed is three feet off the ground and our son said she was standing up, so roughly a five foot fall. I ran into the room and she was unresponsive. She didn't take her first breath for 45 seconds. Her eyes were rolled in the back of her head and her entire body was limp. I lost it. I was...
IF WHEN I HAVE MY BABY I DONT WANT MY BD OR HIS FAMILY TO EVER C HER WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO???
No one is throwing me a shower which I don't care. I do want one for my baby but my husband doesn't want to. This will be our last baby. Even though I want 2 more he said no more so I'm closing the factory once I give birth..... Should I convince my husband to have a party for our baby? It's my last one and every Baby is a blessing!!!! I always wanted to be mother and Hod blessed me with 2. I want to celebrate their life and coming to this world.... My husband said it's stupid to have your own p...

Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?

Baby girl decided it was her time before we could make our decision. Thanks for all your love and prayers. My little princess now became my little angel. 😭👶🙏👼
@mcrowell0970, yeah I'm hoping he'll feel different after she gets here
