My brother and my younger sister both have it. Here's a link if some research. They say it appears to be heritable. But it mostly affects those with anxiety, traumatic stress, bad sleep habits.

you do ? my husband has it bad I have to shake him awake and im worried bc like everyone in his family has it

Sleep paralysis has mostly to do with anxiety and sleeping disorders. I don't know if it's hereditary but I have it but it's because if I have really bad anxiety and insomnia
