my little boys 5m should he be sleeping through the night at this age? he still gets up every 4hrs for a feed at night…

Jenson was 8ilbs 12oz at birth and is now 17ilbs 2oz at 22 weeks today so he has doubled his birth weight just @beck_yemm suppose he will do it when he's ready x

I have heard that once they have doubled their birth weight they should no longer need feeding through the night xx however this is just a guide x with Harvey I tried just giving him his dummy instead of a bottle obviously if he still cried I would feed him but this seemed to work for him xx

he useally goes to sleep around 8.30 then up around 1am then 4am then up for the day around 7am so between 8.30 and 7am he's useally up twice in the night for feeds rarely he has slept through but only once or twice rest of the time he's like that @sara-lou

It really depends. Babies don't always wake because their hungry. Sometimes it becomes habit. 5months is still young so it's perfectly normal for him to still wake for a feed. But if he was waking 2 or more times I'd try probably try water or other distractions.

Mine and I'm sure he will start sleeping through soon

My son has a last feed at 11-12 then wakes up at 3 am and then again at 7am I get some decent sleep and he's 2weeka old and I don't honk that's normal for this age

if there waking up and crying are they not hungry though @sara-lou I try settling hon with his dummy and sometimes he guess back but most of the time he cries until I give him milk drinks the whole 6/7oz then goes back to sleep for another 4hrs useally I've just started weaning him he had one meal a day useally veg at lunchtime then the rest of the time he's on 7oz milk I thought weaning him would make him sleep as he would be fuller lol obviously not. he loves his food though just hates baby rice and porridge he prefers his veg and fruit x

I used to get so annoyed when people comment oh isn't she sleeping through yet but I just gather she will do it when she's ready. might be exhausting and hard work but each baby is different. x

I think it's luck of the draw when they sleep through. Some babies do it earlier than others. My nephew never slept through until he was 2yrs. Have you tired offering water when he wakes instead of milk? My sister said she tried that & he eventually realised he wasn't getting milk & water wasn't worth it so started waking less then eventually just once a night lol
