I've moved from San Jose to Oregon, back to San Jose because I missed it so much and then to Reno because I was sick of the rent. I don't miss it anymore haha
The struggle is too real! My parents bought their first home there when I was born (almost 29 years ago and invested in a rental before the tech boom). The prices won't be letting up anytime soon as long as the big tech companies continue to thrive.
that's why everyone is moving out. Bearly find any apartments for rent, usually for lease and then it goes up another 200 or so. Its happening to my parents.
That is a blessing! I rented a 510 sq. ft. box in East Side SJ for $1300/month! When we came up to Renton, WA (25m south of Seattle) our 2br 1 bth 910 sq. ft. apt was $1275. Everyone I know who isn't still living at home have a few roommates. 😬 @miluklotovich
here in the Peninsula the rent for 2 bedroom could be 3k. Probably checking Craigslist you could find something in the 2ks but everyone and there mom jumps on it. its tough for sure
That was definitely part of the reason.. I realized I LOVED my city and the Bay as a whole, but the inflated cost of living meant it was nearly going to be impossible to make a living and support my own family. My mom and brother are still there and I visit as often as I can. The beginning of this pregnancy was torture because everything I craved was from home. 😟 Since moving we recently became home owners and are in a great neighborhood in an awesome school district. But I do miss the diversity and progressive culture in the Bay! @miluklotovich
