@cheyenne.frazier @kmharr3 i will def. have to do some research and looking into those! we live ina super small town, everything is at least a 30 min drive to get to. My oldest was in daycare until i became a stay at home mom, but it certainly doesnt benefit my lil dude! thanks all!

most libraries have toddler story time, that's what the recommended I do or try to find play groups that way my daughter could see people her age since I stay at home

I would look into mommy and me classes or even just doing more play dates if y'all don't want to do daycare. Maybe getting him around other kids closer to his age will help him open up more. We had to do daycare cause we both have to work and didn't have anyone that could watch her through out to week but I don't regret it because she has picked up quickly on things because when she sees other kids doing it she will do it. Speech therapy can be a great thing but I would try just getting him around other kids before spending the money on that. You should look into mom groups through churches or mommy and me classes. It'll benefit him and you! Youll meet moms and have a place to go for yourself too lol we all need a place where we can vent and just hang out. Our husbands are great but sometimes they don't understand lol

@cheyenne.frazier that maybe part of the problem, he doesn't go to daycare so he really only sees me, his dad and 10 yr old brother, never really around kids his age

@kmharr3 we read books everyday and point stuff out, as well as you tube videos with kids learning songs, sometimes it seems like he is talking,but only he can underatand it lol. @mommalyles i try to say same thing over and over again "Can you say hi?" starting small. my oldest who is 10 noe had speech delay but that was due to fluid build up and needed tubes, we dealt with speech therapy for years, still does in school, so i know how they work, it just sucks especially knowing that its not fluid build up

Som kids just don't talk till they are ready. My friends son wouldn't talk for a while they put him through therapy and everything and he just didn't want to do it. When he turned three he started talking like he had been talking since day 1 lol I wouldn't worry to much. Just keep working at it with him. Look into therapy if you want it can definitely benefit. Even doing mommy and me classes or a couple days a week at daycare can get him to open up too

My son is almost 14 months old and does the exact same!! I've been wondering this too but I'm thinking about just spending time with him everyday on a new word and seeing if that will help!

My daughter wasn't talking at 18 months so she started speech therapy. She will be 2 next month and can say over 40 words and 10 phrases. Does he have books so you can flip through the pages and point at objects and label them? my daughter loved it when we got the little people's farm set and I would sing old McDonald and show her each animal, soon she started saying the animal names and sounds by herself
