@kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom, yes, it will absolutely go away on its own! Her dermatologist said that they peak before the first year, I think, and then it starts to go away and will be gone by the time they're 5 or 6 w/o any treatment.
We tried timolol but it didn't work so we went to an oral medication called propranolol and it made a huge difference. His was under his chin on his neck so they made sure it was external and didn't risk blocking his airways and all that. They told me they couldn't remove the hemangioma surgically but hey could remove the extra skin after it shrinks. We stopped the medication because I figured it would run its course eventually. It's still there but at least it's not growing. I've only seen a few other moms on here who have babies with hemangiomas so I had to ask.
@kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom, thank you! Yes, we are treating hers w/ Timolol. It's an eye drop used on glaucoma patients. It is definitely working! If the hemangioma was anywhere that it could bother her, we'd have it surgically removed.
absolutely beautiful smile 💛
