My son is 5 weeks old. His rectal temp was 99° when i looked it up online it says 100.4° rectally is considered feverish. First time mom here.. should i take him to pediatrician or ER if his temp goes up or what do you momma's do when baby has a fever??
I don't know.. my pediatrician told me at 100.4 either bring him into her office or the ER if they are closed. Did they ever call back?
She didn't seem concerned that it was 99°. She said 104 was when they take action.. should i get another opinion? My f'in pediatrician didn't even answer his phone when i called like 6 times. SMH. So I need to find a new pediatrician apparently.
At least he is happy! I'm glad he isn't in any pain from being sick. I'm shocked they didn't mention if you could give him tylenol or not to break his fever and keep it down.
She didn't say so. She said if he was on formula that they'd have me give him some probiotics but being BF she said its the absolute best thing for him and long as his fever isnt too high that its okay cuz it's his body fighting the virus. Breaks my heart but he's happy so it makes it a little easier.
Hopefully he will fight it fast! Poor baby. Are they letting you give him Tylenol to keep his fever down?
@momof3cuties @melissahelms2005 @mommy_of_boys they said he's caught a virus and to let him fight it naturally. Unless of course his temp raises too high, but just need to make sure he's staying hydrated and having plenty of wet diapers. Thanks for your help, ladies ❤
@momof3cuties @melissahelms2005 @mommy_of_boys thanks ladies, im running him in now
I would call his dr and let them know. Most places say anything over 101 bring them in. Hope he gets better
Call his pediatrician first if the office is open and let them know about his fever and they will probably have you come in but my doctor told me if the office is closed to take my son to the ER right away if he gets a fever of 100.4. I hope he gets to feeling better and his temperature doesn't get any higher!
Omg! I would be pissed off!
