I'm scheduled to be induced a week from today, I'll be 40 weeks 3 days. I've been 2 centimeters dilated and 80% effaced for about a month now. Just wondering if anyone has been through a similar situation and did it seem to make being induced easier? My biggest fear was being induced, for some reason I'm terrified of the idea. I wanted to try for no epidural but I've been told that contractions are worse when you get induced so now I'm not sure that will happen.

@kileebananas, I was induced at 39+1 & I was oki2kii for the very first hour, the second and third one, I was crying & telling my husband that I love & hate him at the same time for doing me this. Lol. Every experience is different because with my middle-first one it wasn't like that. It was a visit to the park. Keep your mind positive and try hypno-Teraphy. That worked for me with the middle-first one.

I was Induced at 40+4, 2cm and 80% also. I didn't feel like the contractions were that bad. I made it to 6cm before I decided to get the epidural. Not because they were bad but because I knew they would only get worse and they told me not to wait too long. Not because they can't give it to you but because you need to stay very still and if your having back to back contractions it's hard to stay still. I ended up not progressing and my son wouldn't drop down and my placenta had ruptured and my heart was struggling (but that's my issue). I had a c section which i was very against at first but I went with the flow to keep everyone safe. I'm the end it was better. My son was 9lbs 13oz. He would have split me in half. Recovery was not nearly as bad as I thought It would be. I went back to work 4 weeks pp.

I was induced when I was 39 weeks pregnant, and I too was always told the pain is worse if you are induced and being induced was the last thing I wanted! I also said I didn't want an epidural but I ended up getting one about 4 hours in.
