In the hospital pretty much. Our nurses were kind of overly aggressive with the breast feeding and it made it way more stressful than it had to be so day 3 of her life.
I formula fed. I started it when she was a week old because I was having trouble breastfeeding. Everyone is so aggressive about breastfeeding that I felt guilty and kept trying but i felt like my kid was starving so I switched and she's just fine.
@stephmayfield19, that's exactly how I feel! I was hoping talking to other moms who use formula would help me feel less guilty. She's pretty much getting pumped milk and formula and that just seems to be the best for her right now @lizabeth.1294, @mcrowell0970,
@kedrababy, you'll feel less guilty as you go on. When it's all said and done you make the best choice for you and your baby. Being a new mom is hard enough without people telling you what you are doing isn't "right". Besides...a fed baby is better than a starving baby.
My daughter was born with high levels of belirubin and also her mouth was small so it was hard for her to latch on so I decided to formula feed and don't let anyone let you feel guilty because I did but I realized as long as baby is getting fed that's all that matters.
My son was born tongue tied, so I started out pumping in hopes we could try breastfeeding after getting his tongue tie corrected. Due to different things going on, he never did get it corrected. I just couldn't keep up with the pumping, so we switched completely over to formula. I was a little bummed, but as long as my squishy is getting fed and isn't hungry, I'm happy. The biggest thing I dislike about formula feeding is it's so expensive. But baby is happy and healthy and daddy's wallet can handle it, so we will be fine:)
I do want to try to breastfeed the next one. But no hard feelings if it doesn't happen!

I pretty much just pump minus the once in a blue moon she wants to eat of my breast which is only if she's really really fussy.
