So my son has only taken a pacifier once and that was while he was in the hospital when he was 6weeks old. I am running out of options and would like him to take one now so he will maybe stay asleep when I lay him down or am not holding him.. is there anything I can do to now get him to take one and use it to soothe himself?
@babynessa, how do you start the cry it out? I'm afraid it would just be traumatizing for him since he's already 8 months and used to me going to him with even the start of a cry. If I don't come he starts crying hysterically
I never used a paci. My daughter has this silk rag doll. She likes silky things and soft things so thats what I used when she was younger. But now she just sleeps on her own because I did the cry it out method which is what her pediatrician told me to do and it works. Hard at first but so rewarding once she figured out she's ok and I'm not picking her up. She crys maybe once a week for about 5 minutes and thats about it.
I'm wondering the same thing my daughter doesn't take one also !@hkatedavis
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
He'll most likely cry hysterically my daughter did. But I just kiss my daughter, turn her night light on and tell her good night when I lay her down. I crack her door and let her cry until she goes to sleep. Occasionally I go in there lay her back down kiss her tell her she's ok and that I love her and leave the room. Or I'll go to the door and say "Vanessa your ok mommy is right here go night night. I love you pumpkin" and leave. If I can't deal with the crying and feel like I'm going to cave I put ear plugs in and turn on music or the TV or I sit in my car while her dad deals with her because he is stronger than me. It's hard but my daughter's doctor did it with all her kids and he cry because he is dependent on you. I don't want my daughter to be dependent on me for every little thing. Because in my opinion it won't help her when she's older. If she doesn't figure it out now when she's young it will only be harder to have her become independent when she's older. I don't want a 2 or 3 year old sleeping in bed with me or rocking her to sleep at that age or always having her attached to my hip. I want her to explore and know I will be there when she falls to encourage her to get up and try again but I won't have her dependent on me for every little thing. I'm not going to lie he will cry as if he's dying but it won't hurt him. He'll figure it out, you just have to stand your ground and be strong and sooner or later he'll figure out that he is ok and you won't let anything hurt him but it's time to go to sleep and he doesn't need you to go to sleep. A lot of moms don't like the cry it out and are against it but you can try it and see if its for you if not try something else. @hkatedavis
