is anybody using nipple shield? I started to use it in hospital and it's great my nipples are OK it's not sore. the only problem is that I can't manage to feed Sophie without nipple shield I can't manage to latch her properly I'm managing to do it on left breast but after 5 mins of feeding she's getting mad and don't want to eat unless I put nipple shield.
i havnt personally.. i helped my sister with this though. i also breast fed and currently breastfeeding.... 2 of my children had mild tonge tie... this was a little bit more difficult for them to latch on... but hold her really close to you... touch the end of her nose with your nipple and she should automatically move up to find it.. and make sure her chin is also touching your breast. If it lasts for 5 mins maybe shes dribbling and your nipples are wet preventing her from latching on... dry them, try again. Just keep trying.. even if its 1 feed a day you will get there. Maybe she screams until you put the sheild on as thats what shes used to and its a different feel and she knows she can get a good feed from that one..xx
🗣BREAST FEEDING MOMMIES : what’s the best thing to use on your nipples to protect them would you say nipple cream if so what kind ? Or would you keep it more natural and use something like coconut oil ? Trying to be completely prepared with everything I need for breast feeding !! also does nipple shields work great if baby has a hard time latching only answer this question if you actually used them before
Colostrum and feeding
Breastfeeding is so hard so far. My nipples aren't pushed out enough so I have to use a Medela shield (I'm totally fine with it but it makes it harder).
